FEEDING THE BODY AND SOUL:
TORONTO VEGetarian
FOOD BANK
WHO WE ARE
Toronto Vegetarian Food Bank is a vegan food bank that has served over 350,000 meals worth of fresh healthful plant-based whole food groceries to community members experiencing poverty and food insecurity.
"We don't want people to have to compromise their health, or their ethics, when they are already in such a vulnerable position."
- Matt Noble, Executive Director
Put Food Banks Out Of Business
Put Food Banks Out Of Business (PFOB) is a national campaign advocating for a guaranteed liveable basic income - an income floor below which no Canadian can fall.
Veg Food Bank endorses a basic income (based on the poverty line) as the most economical, dignified, and just way to eliminate poverty!
“Basic income… would allow all Canadians to decide for themselves how to live their lives without the coercion of grinding poverty, the stress of income insecurity or the humiliation associated with income assistance.”
- Evelyn Forget, Basic Income for Canadians

Plant-Based Culinary Training
Building on the success of our partnership with the T. Colin Campbell Centre for Nutrition Studies and Yonge Street Mission, we are now partnering with HSI Canada’s Forward Food program and Sodexo, to create a free national plant-based peer-to-peer cooking program for cooks and kitchen managers in the charitable food sector.
Veganic Farm
Veg Food Bank Farm cropped up at Wishing Well Sanctuary in the Spring of 2022.
The farm's purpose is to grow fresh local veganic food for Veg Food Bank clients, while also connecting people with the sanctuary's rescued animals and their individual stories.
